Lipids, better known as fats, are  in almost all of the foods that are consumed by the public.  Fats are found of in some of the following:

Butter
Pork
Chicken
Fish
Beef
Pastery products
Candy products
Peanuts

Fats are either saturated, mono, or polyunsaturated fatty acids.  The best choice of a fatty acid is monounsaturated. Monounsaturated takes LDL and not HDL.  HDL is lower in cholesterol than LDL therfore HDL is healthier for the body.

Fats can be useful if consumed responsiblily.  If use responsiblily, fats can improve memory in the brain and provide cushioning for the internal organ and bones. For example, the oil in fish improves the memory and the fat from other foods gives the organs and bones and extra added cushioning.

Some of the disadvantages to fats are, if taken in excess, they add extra unwanted weight, raise the blood pressure, and the cholesterol.  A result of high blood presure is an increase chance for heart diaese and diabates.

With higher cholesterol and other conbriuting factors, the arteries become clogged.  With clogged arteries, the blood is unable to flow properly and with the lack of circulation to vital organs, such as the heart , began to experiecne problems.  Some of the problems that can occur are heart failure and increased chances for a heart attack.

If the problem is not corrected, with diet and excercise, there in a chance that there will be a need for bypass surgery.  Bypass surgery in where a vein from some part of the body is taken and placed in and around the heart to replace the clogged or damaged artery. Certain foods can reduce the effects of LDL, an example is gralic.  Also to reduce the effects of heart diease soy products are a great help.
