Guitar Lessons from an BMus (Honours), ALCM(TD) accredited teacher with experience.
A flexible curriculum encourages and motivates students in the important early stages to to develop their aural abilities and basic musicality.

In the first stages, emphasis is placed on good posture and positioning of the guitar. It is of utmost importance that good habits be developed at this stage, as bad habits are difficult and sometimes painful to change later on.

The fundamentals of right hand technique are developed in conjunction with an emphasis on consistently good posture and right hand positioning.  Shortly afterwards the left hand is introduced.

Once the student has developed good habits with the left hand he/she can become familiar with the notes in first position on the first three strings.  At this point the hard work pays off for they are able to play simple and well-known themes such as 'Ode de Joy' by Beethoven, 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star', and Dvorak's Folk Theme from the New World Symphony.
