| Act II Scene 1 MACBETH is on his way to the king's room when he runs into Banquo. Banquo has not been able to sleep, because he was dreaming of the witches. When Banquo leaves MACBETH sees a dagger. THe dagger was his mind playing tricks on him. He then enters the king's room. Act II Scene 2 Lady Macbeth and Macbeth have now drugged the guards. That are in front of Duncan's chamber. MACBETH kills the king. And brings the dagger back with him, MACBETH'S hands are covered in blood. Lady Macbeth takes the dagger back to the kings room and plantedthem on the guards. At the end of the scene MACBETH hears a knocking at the door. Act II Scene 3 The knocking continues, but the porter does not go to see who it is immediately. THe porter tell jokes about who is at the door. Finally, the porter opens the door to find that it is Lennox and Macduff. They are here to get the king up so they can start start back. MACBETH takes Macduff to get the king up from his sleep. Macduff finds the kings has been murdered. Now MACBETH has killed the gaurds. Lady Macbeth faints. The king's sons Malcolm and Donalbian flee to England and Ireland. Act II Scene 4 The kingship has now been passed to MAcbeth. Duncan is Buried. While Duncan's sons are still on the run. |
