Gilina is first met in the episode PK Tech Girl, when the crew go aboard the wreck of the Zelbinion, a legendary Peacekeeper warship. Gilina, a Peacekeeper technician, had been left behind by Crais's Command Carrier, and was awaiting pickup. However, thanks to Crichton's arrival, she decides to aid their escape, even helping the crew fix a defence shield aboard Moya. The reason Crichton's arrival was important is that the two fall for eachother almost instantly, and within a matter of hours, are in eachothers arms. Though they are seperated at the end of the episode (Aeryn points out the problems of becoming a renegade Peacekeepers), Gilina is picked up by Crais's command carrier, and not seen for some time.

Crichton's next meeting with Gilina is extremely fortunate. When Crichton goes to Scorpius's Gammak base to find replacement tissue for Aeryn's wound (given to her in A Bug's Life) Crichton faces a major stumbling block in his plan when he is forced to take a handprint test to confirm his identity (whilst impersonating Larraq, another Peacekeeper officer). Gilina spots him, and realises what problems he will face, and is able to override the detector, and allows him into the base. She then proceeds to help out, finding him the replacement tissue, and aiding his escape from Scorpius.
