Spring Perch plate cleaning: |

Here's why I don't recommend soaking in the diluted Muriatic acid for more than 24 hours. This is a closeup of a crack that runs most of the length of the plate. It is in the same position as the "waterline" where the plate was partially submerged in the acid. I'll be starting over with a new set of plates and only soakiing them 24 hours. I have additional pics of damaged bolts and nuts that soaked too long that I'll post later. |
