At this time, the Kingdom of Hylia discovered a Federation Outpost on the second planet of the Packard System, in Sector M 2913 of the Romulan Neutral Zone. After tensions began to rise, the Federation decided it would be best to negotiate with the Queen and an agreement was quickly reached to continue Diplomatic Contact.
In 2301, the Darkangels were given a Colony Ship and numerous supplies to start their own colony to live in peace. Little did anyone know they had landed on Packard II, now known as Ayenna.
They landed on a continent southeast of Hylia, called Ayenee, and contacted the people of the aHalyian Valley. An agreement was reached in which the people would support the Darkangels in return for learning agriculture and medicine. The Darkangels moved into an ancient Temple in the south end of the Valley.
In the 2330�s, people dissatisfied with the deal, rebelled. With support from the country of Swiftencounter Den to the north, they attacked. The Darkangels, in response, armed the people of aHalyia and taught them how to defend themselves. After the first rebellion was repelled, the People�s Republic of aHalyia was founded on April 15th, 2339. Now celebrated as �Militia Day.� The aHalyian Military was based off 1941 Nazi Germany.
As the Military was trained up, it became fanatical. The sole principle taught was the �Defense of the Darkangels means Defense of our Homes.� The soldiers were taught that as long as the deal was upheld, the Darkangels would survive as a result. This would then assure the survival of the people. Later on this would become religious, and aHalyian Soldiers would be respected by even the Federation.
When an Ambassador arrived in Hylia, the Federation Representative immediately called higher up for assistance. Meetings were held in which the leader of the Darkangels revealed she had acquired three crystals discovered within her boundaries. These were compared to three crystals held in the possession of the Hylian Queen. To the horror of the Federation Representative, they were discovered to be Mazaran Artifacts.
These had been discovered 4 years prior by the Starship Nimitz. The encounter resulted in casualties and heavy damage to the ship, and the formation of regulations dealing with their encounter. With so many on Ayenna, it was decided to draw up a treaty where the Federation could go around the Prime Directive in an effort to ensure the crystals never fell into the wrong hands.
On April 15th, 2340, the Treaty of Hylia was signed between the United Federation of Planets, the Romulan Star Empire, the People�s Republic of aHalyia and the Kingdom of Hylia. This treaty would be amended in 2372 at the end of the Succession War, 2374 when the Federation went to war with the Dominion, and in 2380 at the end of the Second Succession War.
As peace reigned, the Darkangels discovered they still had a problem. The Darkangel Rebels struck again in mid 2361. This time they infiltrated the Temple and made off with several key components from their Technology Stockpile. The Darkangels immediately pounced on this, because the Rebels would then have the ability to create more dangerous technology. Swiftencounter Den was bombed by Do17 Light Bombers of the aHalyian Luftwaffe (People�s Air Force) from Diana Airbase just over the southern end of the Valley to ensure the Computer Core was destroyed. After the attack began, the Swiftencounter immediately sued for peace, and the brief War was quickly brought to a close.
