Great Whale of China is a circular ride that has humps in bewtween the track. The ride is designed to look like there are ships on ocean waves and that's what the humps are for. The gondolas are painted like ships and each have a flag infront. There are six gondolas that come off from the round circle in the middle and each can hold two people. As the ride starts off all the gondolas spin simutaneously in a clockwise direction as they go around up and down over the humps of the track. As they go over the humps the cars swing around until they face the other gondola riders and lock into this position until another hump of two where they swing back into original position. This pattern continues for a few times before the ride slows down and comes to a complete stop. Rating: 6/10 |
This ride was installed at Wonderland back in 1981 along with the other original rides and is a fun family ride, similar to the scrambler rides found at other parks. The ride is tucked away in a little area in between Top Gun and the Kingswood Music Ampitheatre. |
