The Orbiter is in a dugout area and you enter the queue through the dugout until you reach the ride and you enter a car which has no restraints. After everyone is seated and secured then the ride starts to slowly spin. Then the ride starts to go faster and you lift up from the ground. The the gondola starts to rise more vertically and gravity keeps you in the car with negative forces at the top and positive forces at the bottom of the ride as you go around. After the ride goes around a few more times you will slowly come down until you are back to the ground. Rating: 8/10 |
The Orbiter is an enterprise type ride shaped in a circle forming a round gondola. The ride spins around as you go up into the sky and back around to the ground. Each car of the gondola swings outward as you pick up speed and climb up to 26ft. This ride is one of the original rides from 1981 and used to be called Sol Loco. |
The Orbiter used to be called Sol Loco and was themed to Mexico with the front entrance made to look like a Mayan temple. The ride was then renamed The Orbiter in 2002 and the old Mexican themeing was removed to create the new area Action Zone. Colours: The main arm is creme coloured, with the cars of the gondola each different colours (purple, green, red, blue and yellow is the alternating colour pattern). Best Seats: It doesn't matter much where you sit because everyone will see the sky and the ground as you spin around. Queue Line Wait Time: The wait is about 10 to 15 minutes. |
