As you line up in the queue for Night Mares you enter the ride and choose one of the 10 gondolas to stand in. You can stand with up to three of your friends/family members in one gondola. Then the ride starts to spin slowly at first, and then picks up speed as you spin faster and faster as you move higher until you reach the top of the ride as you are perpendicular 65ft above the ground. As you go around at the top you feel the negative g forces and at the bottom you feel the positive g forces. After a few spins the ride starts to move slowly back to the ground until you are back in the original position and the ride ends. Rating: 8/10 |
This was one of the original rides that opened at Wonderland back in 1981. It was designed by Huss Rides and is similar to the enterprise ride but instead of sitting down in gondolas with restraints on this ride you stand up with no restraints. On the ride you go around in revolutions with the forces of gravity keeping you in the gondola. |
Night Mares was formerly known as Wilde Knight Mares, which fit into the heavy theming of Medieval Faire. Colours: The main arm is grey and the gondolas are green. Best Seats: It doesn't matter much where you sit because everyone will see the sky and the ground as you spin around. Queue Line Wait Time: The wait is about 5 to 20 minutes. |
