Top Gun is a thrilling two minute blur. The ride starts by climbing up the lift hill chain until you get to the top. Then you go down a banked 120 foot drop into a heart-shaped barrel roll loop inversion. Next you swing past the station and go into a half-loop helix inversion. Then you go through a series of two inline twists and two barrel rolls. Then you turn and go through two inverted bunny hops and a fast turn into the brake run then station. Top Gun is rough, but thrilling and fun and worth the wait. Rating: 9.5/10 |

Built in 1994, Top Gun is Canada's first and only looping, inverted jet coaster. It's one of Vekoma's cookie cut-out SLC (Suspended Looping Coasters) healvily themed to the hit Paramount movie "Top Gun" with 6 inversions including barrel rolls, and inverted loop wingovers. |
Top Gun took the place of where Zumba Flume, a large log flume type ride, used to be located between Xtreme Skyflyer and The Great Whale of China. Colours: The track is silver, the supports are black, and the trains are red. Best Seats: You should sit in the front seats if you can because you get less of the headbanger effects which can really hurt throughout the ride. Queue Line Wait Time: There is normally quite a long wait for this coaster because it's very popular, a 45 minute to 1 hour wait. |
