Kid Koala's Diary

Grade 1-3
Indiana, USA
We are from the U.S.  We live in Indiana, which is a state in the middle, northern section of our country.  We get cold snowy weather for at least 5 months out of the year.  We have a large population of people called Amish in our area.  These people believe that in order to be closer to God they must live a simpler life.  They drive in horse-drawn buggies, they wear different clothing, very plain.  The girls must always wear a dress and a bonnet.  The boys always wear pants with suspenders.  One of the boys in my class in Amish, see if you can pick him out.  They also don't use electricity or phones in their homes.  They do go to public school, but some choose to send their children to their own private Amish schools.  The kids fit in very well, and are just a natural part of our Northern Indiana culture.

I will take Kid Koala to Florida.  He would climb the tallest palm trees.  He admired the scene of the animals at the zoo.  He saw alligators, crocodiles, flamingos and armadillos at the zoo.  He really enjoyed visiting Florida.
Autumn is 8 years old and is in the 1st grade.

Kid Koala Goes to Arizona
I took Kid Koala to Arizona.  He went to the hot dessert and saw the cactus plants.
Ben Skibbe is 8 years old and is in the 2nd grade. He recently went on a trip to the state of Arizona to visit his grandparents.

I took Kid Koala to Texas.  Kid Koala and I crushed a cactus with a big tractor truck.  After we crushed the cactus we visited some cowboys on their ranch.  The cowboys fed us a dinner of cheeseburgers and french fries.  Then the cowboys helped me follow the tractor truck tire tracks back to the road so Kid Koala and I could go back home to Indiana.
Christian Starks is 7 years old and is in the 1st grade.  He has never visited Texas, however, he loves trucks and this was his idea of what he and Kid Koala could do together.

Kid Koala and I decided to go to my Karate class.  It was board breaking day and I was pumped!  After we were done stretching instructor Nick said to the class, It looks like we have a new student.  I told him that Kid Koala was a friend of mine.  Instructor Nick said that Kid Koala could try to break the board today like everyone else. Kid Koala was the first to go and Nick had him to a Karate Chop.  He swung fast and furious but nothing happened, a kid started to giggle.  As Kid Koala continued to hit the board without breaking it the whole class was laughing.  Kid Koala was close to tears when all of the sudden the board cracked and everybody stopped laughing.
