Chapter 23 : Myserious Ki
"Shimatta!!' He yelled after three hours useless training.
Where was it?! Where was his Super Saiya-jin power?! He knew he had it, it just wouldn't come!
'Gosh, today is just not your day, is it?' The Kakarot-like part of his mind commented.
Vegeta growled and left the GR. ANYTHING to calm her down, even if it did mean wasting another day searching for that useless airhead of a woman.
"If you want to know where I'm going," He informed her, "I'm going to look for that mother of yours." With that he turned away from her room and walked off down the hall.
Bulma blinked. "Huh?"
"WAIT FOR ME!!"
The prince stood where he was and waited. The last time Bulma had come with him on one of these 'extra-credit' missions (as he called them) the results had been less than satisfactory. Still, Bunny was her mother. And the onna would manage to suddenly apear and insist on coming anyway. Resisting wasn't worth the effort.
"Did you write your father a note?" He asked, smirking.
"Of course." She replied and took hold of his arm. After a second of just standing there she looked up at Vegeta. "Well? Are we going to find my mom or not?"
"We are, as soon as you let go of me." He answered, pulling away.
"But aren't we gonna..."
"I'd drown out her pathetic little ki signal if we flew." The prince told her, "Meaning that we walk."
Vegeta scowled, "What do you think, woman?"
"I'm not walking."
"Then you're not coming."
"No, we're just not walking." Before he could protest Bulma was throwing her #10 and the XJR was out again. "There." She said, pleased with the result. "Now we can be slightly civilized."
"We'll go faster than if we walked." She interrupted. "Anyway, it's not like any other Saiya-jin are going to see you and start laughing, is it?"
Vegeta rolled his eyes and got in, annoyed that she was right.
"Good. I knew you'd be reasonable for me, Veggie."
"Onna! Isn't this against your human laws?!" He demanded, "Can't your little police people come and arrest you for doing this?"
"Oh come on, Vegeta. We all know you don't care about lawbreaking, so quit complaining." She looked up from the road just in time to see the signpost for yet another turnoff. "So where is she?"
"That way." He stated, pointing to the right.
"WHAT?!" She cried, "But we have to be in the other lane to go that way!"
"We'd get hit and killed! That's..." She counted the lanes, "Five lanes to cross, one to get into, and an armco to smash through. Hmm, what an excelent idea, Vegeta."
"Forget it."
Bringing a half scream from Bulma, Vegeta opened his door and leapt out into the air, closing it behind him while he flew to keep up. Latching onto the roof of the metalic blue XJR he lifted it from the ground and flew over to the other side of the road. Placing the car on the hard shoulder (facing the right way around) he got back in.
"Don't do that again." Bulma ordered in a surprisingly calm voice as she started up the engine and pulled away, turning to the right and up along a much narrower road. "And put your seatbelt on."
"Stay here." He ordered and leapt into the air, leaving a royal blue streak through the clouded sky.
Bulma raised an eyebrow. 'Vegeta, you should've learned by now...'
