Chapter 13 : Explainations and SSJ4
Dr. Breifs did his best to comfort his hysterical wife, wondering where Bulma had gotten to. Vegeta was with her, but he wasn't sure whether that was a good thing or not. The Saiya-jin was completely unpredictable and capable of doing anything to his poor daughter.
"There, there. I'm sure she's all right." He assured Bunny, "Vegeta will keep her safe." A wish on his part, as he didn't know how close Bulma and the prince had become.
"Hunuf?" She asked muzzily, "Vegeta? Man, I ACHE."
"That's what comes of falling asleep on the roof of a concrete building." He replied, slipping out of her embrace to stand and stretch.
"Aw, it wasn't that bad. At least, it wasn't so bad with you to lean on..." She laughed when he smirked at her and wrapped his tail around her arm, pulling her to her feet. Then she actually looked at the tail, and almost shouted in surprise. "Vegeta! Your tail... It looks terrible..."
"Poor, poor taily." Bulma sympathised, "We'll get some ice on that, huh, Vegeta?"
He shrugged, "Whatever." And reached out a hand, "Shall we?"
She smiled at him, "Sure."
"Uh, mom, it's not what it looks like..."
But she was too late. Bunny had made the only connection her brain could make, and initiated the first violent action in her life. She went up to Vegeta and slapped him across the face.
"Mom! Listen to me..."
But Bunny was too busy trying to push the Saiya-jin out the door, with little effect. Seeing that this was going nowhere Bulma raised an eyebrow at Vegeta suggestively.
'Just let me talk this out with her. It won't take that long...' She thought at him.
'~All right.~'
"Uh, mom? I want him to come back here." Bulma replied.
Her mother gave her an angry look. "What?! Bulma, don't be silly, love. Look what he did to you..." She gestured to the ripped shirt, causing Bulma to wonder exactly how much of her was on display.
"And it would've got a lot worse, mom, if it weren't for Vegeta getting him off me."
"It was YAMCHA who attacked me, mom. Vegeta fought with him, but he and I were a little, uh, tipsy, and Yamcha got his tail." She held up the needle, "Vegeta managed to fight this stuff off to save my butt, even though I helped myself too."
Bunny looked unhappy, "Oh dear, I just made a terrible mistake, didn't I, dear? Do you think he might consider coming back after I threw him out?"
Bulma smiled, "I'd like to bet on it."
Her mother sighed in relief. "Allright then. Why don't you change your shirt and we can go out and find him, okay?"
Actually, Bulma thoght that Vegeta would just be outside, wating for her to come out and say it was okay, she'd sorted it. Unfortunately, he was gone. After searching the garden and nearby street Bulma sighed. Bunny was nearly in tears.
"Don't worry, mom." Bulma consoled, "We'll leave him be. Geta'll be back soon."
Bunny smiled wetly. "I'm sure you're right dear. He'll be back in no-time, won't he. Yes, he will. I'm sure of it."
"So, what were you two doing out so late?" She asked, "I thought you didn't like Vegeta?"
"I didn't." Bulma replied, shrugging. "After The Fall he sorta... Changed. You know what I mean?"
Bunny blinked. She hadn't heard about 'The Fall' before
Her daughter sighed, "All right, mom. This is what happened."
"You're in love." She said excitedly, clasping her hands together and smiling wide. "Bulma, why didn't you tell me?! This is great!"
"Well, I don't know if Vegeta wants me to tell anyone yet..."
Bunny understood this immediately. "All right, honey. We won't tell anyone, right?"
"Don't worry, Saiya-jin. You'll understand soon enough."
'Was that... A harathokin? But no... They were demolished when I purged their planet.'
"Bulma!" It called, "They haven't come here, have they?"
"GET BACK FREAK!!!" She screamed, backing even further away.
Bunny was frozen on the spot with fear, her eyes wide and glistening. She was shivering uncontrolably. For ten seconds she sat like that, then dropped into a heap in a dead faint.
"Is this some sort of sick joke, onna? Because it fails to amuse me."
For a second Bulma stared, her senses still blurred by fear. But then, peice by peice, they began to return. That voice... The words he had said... His face, posture, everything about him... besides the red fur that covered all of his body beside his chest and face.
"V-Vegeta?"
"You're... Looking a little strange." Understatement of the century. "Um, what's with all the fur?"
"What fur? What're you on about, woman?! I don't have fur!"
"You do now." She replied. "Go look in the mirror." Bulma gestured to the shiney reflective surface that hung on the wall a short way away from Vegeta.
"I look exactly the same, woman (give or take a bloodshot eye)! Now stop your stupid show and..."
"Look in the full length mirror." She ordered, taking him by the hand and pulling him up the stairs. Bunny could wait.
"This had better be something worth my time, Bulma. I have better things to do."
"Oh, it's gonna be worth your time, Geta. Just you see."
When they reached Bulma's room she put her hand over his eyes, just to annoy the prince, and led him over to the mirror. Pulling her hand away she smiled.
"Look at that!"
"Wh-what? NO! Come back! You're mine, MINE!! I ORDER YOU BACK HERE!" Vegeta screamed, ripping at his own flesh in a useless attempt to return what was lost.
"Vegeta! Vegeta, stop it!"
