SHOOTING IS 98% MENTAL
2 % PHYSICAL
AND
100% SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE!
I was a Primary Marksmanship Instructor or PMI back in 1966.
Some of this information might be dated.
The basics remain the same.
My main reason for creating this page
Was to aid some, who know nothing about shooting.
First,I would like to say something here about "rifling".
There lands and grooves machined into the barrel of the rifle.
That rifling gives spin to the bullet.
Numbers such as 1-7
Means that the bullet will make one revolution.
After traveling 7 inches down the barrel
M-1 Rifle has a 1-10 twist.
M-14 Rifle first had a 1-14 twist
Now some list as 1-11 up 1-12 twist.
M16A2 Rifle first had a 1-12 twist
now it has a 1-7 twist.
The smaller the number the tighter the twist.
Translating to more accuracy.
So from the data on the M16A2 Rifle
We see that it went down in numbers.
So it's a small bullet with a great deal of accuracy.
1st Week or Grass Week is snapping in.
They will learn all the fundamentals of shooting
During this week's course of instruction.
Snapping In is practicing getting into the shooting positions.
And doing all the proper things need for good marksmanship.
