Well. the 'Colours of the Country' Touring Exhibition from the Alice Springs Beanie Festival, has arrived at the Tweed River Regional Gallery, (till Feb 3).It is only a small taste of the festival, but has created quite  a lot of excitement and amusement already. With 80 pieces on display it is a wonderful collection and it is great to see it here in Murwillumbah while I happen to be here. I will be holding an informal beanie making workshop with display of other beanies and Beaniefest photos on the Sunday 6th January, at the Gallery for anyone lucky to be in the area. 11am -3pm.  We were blessed with the presence of Beaniefest Founder Adi Dunlop who came down from Spingbrook to open the exhibition, and she gave a wonderful talk about the origins and some of the beanies.
