Well the weather is beginning to cool here, with the mornings having an autumn chill in the air. It soon warms up into warm to hot days, sometimes still humid with the rain about, but I have started to crochet again!
I manage to get myself off the computer! and stop Flickr-surfing all the wonderful creative work you all make, and actually have started work on this southern hemisphere's 'Winter Collection 2008"
I took my work out to a local cafe 'Sphinx Rock' the last two Sundays for their music afternoon, they have wonderful food, (best in the area) and it has become a regular alternate meeting place, central to a lot of us who live in this Caldera, with it's very winding roads.
The top photo is my first hat of the season, (not finished yet), which I began back in Feb. Then I got on to Flickr and have been really getting more experience on-line, looking at various Etsy shops, to get myself ready for setting up and opening my Etsy shop, (Soon soon soon),and the hat sat, and sat and sat. If you are a member of Ravelry, you can see the WIPpix there in My Projects, www.ravelry.com
I began meeting all you wonderfully creative people ,on-line, some in Scandinavia, Netherlands, America, some just 'over the hill' (albeit 20+ kms by road). I 'learnt' that what I do is called "Tapestry Crochet", www.tapestrycrochet.blogspot.com and www.tapestrycrochet.com.blog which has made me stop being 'lazy' and start creating new patterns again instead of staying with the easy styles I have habitualized. Wanda's work , see www.flickr.com/photos/lancer32296 , has really inspired me, along with many others.
So now, that I am back into 'Work', I'm off now to do a little more computer 'work', on publicity for up-coming April workshop ,'Tapestry Crochet- The Art of Beanie Making', and then finish the purple hat I began last night.
