He married EVALINA MARKS on the 18th December 1872 at 261 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (Regno 4708). (Marriage bann: Rev. Moses Rintel). Evalina was born about 1852 in London, England.
Emanuel and Evalina divorced  in 1895 - Christchurch High Court

Evalina then married Isaac Morris in 1896 in New Zealand
(folio 0667).

Probate - Emanuel Solomons - Dunedin - Importer - 1913 - Dunedin High Court - Record 2423.

Obituary - Jewish Herald: " I regret to state that Mr Emanuel Solomon, a member of the congregation, died on 15th December. The deceased arrived in Dunedin about 40 years ago. He leaves behind him two sons -viz. Mr Lewis Solomon (Capetown, SA) and Mr Albert Solomon (Dunedin, NZ) and two daughters - Mrs Gustav Zweibel (Toowomba, Qld) and Mrs James Watson (Edinburgh, Scotland)".

Emanuel arrived at Port Phillip, Australia with his family in 1857 on the ship 'Essex'. He married Evalina Marks on the 18th December 1872 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. There were no children born to this couple in Melbourne so we can presume Emanuel and his new wife travelled to New Zealand soon after their marriage and settled in Dunedin, Otago. As yet we are unsure exactly how many children Emanuel and Evalina had but I did find on the LDS website a son John Solomon born in January 1877 in Dunedin, New Zealand and from Emanuel's obituary notice we were able to confirm children Lewis, Albert, Frances (Fanny) and Bessie that were still living in 1913.
By 1894 Emanuel Solomons is listed in the Dunedin Trades Directory; Agents - Commission & Manufacturers' & Sharebroker, Frederick Street, Dunedin, NZ.
Emanuel's probate record in 1913 has his occupation listed as an 'Importer' and other records show him as a 'Dealer in fancy goods'.
In 1895 Emanuel divorced Evalina, divorce index records mention Isaac Morris who Evalina marries just a few months later in 1896!
(In the Otago Witness Newspaper, Issue 2406, 12 April 1900, Page 47 a Court case is mentioned titled 'A Disgraceful Case' between Emanuel Solomons v Mary East -. Unbeknown to Emanuel his daughters Fanny and Bessie had stolen 2 Gold Watches, Sheets, Spoons and Tea from him. They gave the watches to the family servant Annie Duncan who then gave one to Mary East.
The two girls took the other items from their father and sold them to Mary East).
Emanuel Solomons died on the 15th December 1913 and was buried at the Southern Cemetery, Dunedin, NZ - Block 4J Plot 0083 .
