Ok, alot of people got those pesky Reflectors on their truck. And that CHEVROLET aluminum sign accross the back of their trucks like mine. So I asked around because my parents said the sign might peel the paint..so I wanted to make sure. So i found out some helpful hints and this is what I did.
This is what the truck started out like.
First I wanted to take those reflectors off. I started out doing this by getting some fishing line and putting it between the truck and the adhesive. Then I pulled it straight through and they just fell off. After I got them all done they all left behind some adhesive.
Then I started working on the Chevrolet sign. I tried the fishing line but it was way to hard and just broke the line. So I tried some other stuff. Nothing worked. So then I got a Heat Gun and held it on there for awhile. Note: If you need the sign in mint condition, dont use a heat gun, it does something to the aluminum, kind of dis-shapes the little lines. Some kid wanted the sign so I was trying to take it easy (you can get the corners and more up with a butter knife etc, I used a machette :), and it was leaving behind alot of adhesive. So I decided to try and just easily pull it off. It seemed to work a hole lot better leaving NOTHING behind. So I recommend just to get a corner up enouph to pull it off and just pull it off..its aluminum, you can re-shape it later if you care.
So then I went to the 3M Adhesive Remover to get all that adhesive off! All came off but a thin line around where the sign was because it was just baked on there and I cant get it off, but Im not too worried about it because Im painting it sometime anyway.

F.Y.I. Thats not a paint chip or nothing under the handle, its just a reflection, Ill try and get a better pic because it looks really smooth!
