Submission Guidelines

There is only one basic requirement for submitted stories: they must prominently feature past or present members of Ravenclaw House. Alternate universe stories with other characters such as Harry or Hermione being placed in Ravenclaw are also acceptable.

To submit a story to The Ravenclaw Common Room:

1. Send an e-mail to [email protected] with the subject "Ravenclaw Fanfiction".

2. Please include the following information in the body of the e-mail:

• Your author name.
• Your e-mail address.
• Your website/livejournal, if applicable.
• The title of your fanfiction.
• The rating. Please use standard movie ratings. G for general, PG for parental guidance, PG-13 if dealing with material not suitable for those under thirteen. R for more serious themes.
• A brief summary of your story.
• Please choose up to two genres that best describe your story: Angst, Drama, Humor, General, Missing Scene, Mystery, Romance, Vignette
• Please indicate the time period the majority of your story takes place during. Choose from: Before the Books, The Books, Book Seven, After the Books, and Alternative Universe.

3. Please attach your work to the e-mail in Word, HTML or TXT format only.

I will not accept anything rated higher than a mild R, and I reserve the right to rate your work if I believe the rating given is not appropriate. Stories depicting teachers and students involved in inappropriate relationships will not be accepted (unless the relationship exists solely in the mind) or work that is unreadable due to severe spelling, format, or grammar errors. Please make certain those problems are resolved before submitting a story. Additionally, be aware that I may format the appearance of stories to conform to others in the archive, though I will not alter content.

If you do not want your e-mail posted with your story for readers to send feedback to you, please let me know.

Regarding General Stories: These will be accepted on a case-by-case basis from authors who have already posted at least one Ravenclaw story on this website. Preference will be given to stories that delve into little-explored areas of the Potterverse. Please contact the webmistress with questions on non-Ravenclaw centric works.
