Yesterday October 4, 2003 my mom lost her battle with Cancer. She fought until the very end, but it was too much for her body to handle. She was in Monterey, California at the time visiting the ocean and it was a place she loved to be.
Memorial services were held on Wednesday October 7, 2003 at Oak Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park in San Jose, California.
Thank you for sharing the life of my mom Nanette, each and everyone she met was special to her and our family in some way. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers throughout her journey. Please continue to pray for our family.

On March 8, 2003 my mom Nanette was diagnosed with a rare form of Cancer (Synovial Sarcoma) which was found in her left arm just below her elbow. She has undergone 22 radiation treatments and 3 intensive Chemotherapy treatments. The tumor on her arm was shrinking and she was doing very well. On July 7, 2003 she was given the news that the Cancer has traveled to her lungs and is now at stage 4 inoperable level. She was undergoing treatment at UC Davis Cancer Center, and was told she has exhausted all of her options at the medical center. At this point the Cancer is deemed incurable. Through the help of a friend my Mom has found an alternative Cancer treatment center in Reno, Nevada that she would really like to try. Unfortunately because the center is alternative, her insurance will not cover the cost of $9000.00+ for the treatments. My aunt Suzanne, my sisters and I have decided we would like to start a Cancer treatment donation account for my Mom so she can go to the alternative treatments and give her a fighting chance, we are hoping for her to get rid of or at the very least have the Cancer go into remission. We would like to ask for your help in this time of dire need.

In July of 2003 my mom was able to receive the alternative treatments thanks to many supporting and loving friends. Up until 2 weeks ago, her progress was steady and she was feeling very well. She was feeling so well in fact, she decided to take a very much needed trip to Germany and France for some healing and spiritual guidance with the help of a very wonderful friend Gary, she was able to go and see the 2 countries a life long dream of hers. While on her journey, she began feeling very ill in France on the last leg of the journey. She was able to make it to the states on September 16,2003 after many days of pain and suffering in a foreign country. Upon her arrival she was greeted by my sister Elizabeth and taken via ambulance back to UC Davis. She was released from the hospital yesterday September 22, 2003. While in the hospital it ws determined the cause of her pain was from bleeding in her lungs due to rapid advancement of the cancerous tumors. She is now home and in a fragile state. Myself, my daughter Amber, my aunt Suzanne and my sisters Elizabeth and Stephanie are spending as much time as we can while we still have her.

My Mom has taken a turn for the worse, at her request she was taken to her favorite place, the ocean in Monterey, California by my aunt Suzanne and her friend Gary. For the first day and a half she was enjoying the ocean view from her hotel room and the drive around Monterey, on October 1st she was in serious pain and having trouble breathing. She was again taken to the hospital where she is being monitored by a wonderful staff at Community Hospital of Monterey. The staff is doing all they can to make her as confortable as possible. We are praying she will be stable enough to make the journey back to Sacramento where she currently resides and wants to be. Thank you for taking the time to read about my Mom. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!
