Soccer Summer 2001

Wednesday nights in May and June saw the soccer fields of Lynwood Park overrun by the "LVCA Horde". More than thirty 5 to 7 year olds braved all sorts of weather (cold, rain and extreme heat!) to partake in "the beautiful game". Simple drills and 45 minute games were enjoyed by all.

Many thanks for the generous donations of the participating families. Monies collected went towards refreshments for each game and allowed us to buy some much needed numbered pinnies of different colours for dividing the players into teams.

Special thanks to Alice Kozculab for her tremendous help in coaching and to the orange peeling/freezie dispensing team of Billie Cissoko, Karen Halchuk, Anita Murray and Mimi Yurack.

And who knows, perhaps the future Craig Forrests, Paul Staltieris and Charmaine Hoopers of the Canadian national sides may have gotten their start here!
