Grand Rapids- Method and motive were the focus of day two of the Marvin Gabrion murder trial.
Prosecutors tried to prove that he killed Rachel Timmerman because she had accused him of rape.
Gabrion's attorneys spent the day trying to poke holes in the prosecution's case and that Timmerman
was killed off of federal property. The death penalty could only be applied if the death happened on
federal land and Gabrion was found guilty. The prosecution's case is moving quicker than expected and
may wrap up this week.
