Grand Rapids-It's the third day of the Marvin Gabrion murder trial. Today, a man testified Gabrion said he "got rid of his girlfriend permanently".
The prosecution brought more witnesses to the stand, building their case that Gabrion murdered Rachael Timmerman in Newaygo County in June 1997.
One of those testifying this morning was Lloyd Westcomb of White Cloud - who said he was a long time friend of Gabrion. Westcomb said Gabrion told him he bound his girlfriend with tape and chains and threw her in a lake.
Westcomb said Gabrion said he'd do the same thing to him, if he told anyone. Westcomb said that remark caused his hair to stand on end.
Also testifying, this morning were three people who said they saw an angry man driving a pickup truck with a boat in the back on June 4, 1997.
The prosecution says that man was Gabrion, and that the boat in his truck was used to carry Timmerman into the middle of Oxford Lake.
The prosecution expects to wrap up its case by week's end.
If convicted, Gabrion could face the death penalty.
