A Letter to my Mommy

Dear Mommy,
Grandma read your letter to me when it arrived.  She even let me hold it because she was sure there were lots of hugs and kisses on it, but she took it away from me when I tried to eat it.  She put it in a drawer so she can read it to me again until your next letter.  I miss you a lot but am doing fine.  There is always someone who has time to play with me.

Grandma wants me to tell  you what I do everyday so that when you think of me you will have a good idea of what I am doing.

Grandpa fixed me my own room right outside Grandma & Grandpa's room.  I have a playpen to sleep in (the crib they got me was missing some parts.).  Great Grandma Norma is letting me use her steamer trunk for a dresser.  I have a lamp and my baby monitor on that.  They put down some carpet so everybody's feets stay warm.  Grandpa wakes up at 4:45 am to go to work and I sometimes wake up with him.  But I usually go back to sleep right away.

Then at 6 am grandma gets up and wakes up Uncle Scott and at 6:45 she wakes up my Daddy.  I usually get up then and someone gives me a bottle and changes my diaper.  Then Uncle Scott and Daddy go to school and Grandma and I take a nap until about 10 am.  We wake up and either Grandma or Great Grandma feeds me cereal and gets me dressed while the other one packs my diaper bag.  Great Grandma drives me and Grandma to the bookstore on her way to work.  I play toys while Grandma opens the store and then we put books on the shelf and sing songs ( but we only sing if there is no one else in here).  I sit in my swing and talk to customers when Grandma is selling books.  I also get to eat a rice cake all by my self.  Then i am all messy and I get my clothes changed.  Grandma and Daddy fixed the back room into a room just for me and I can play in my walker or my swing or my playpen.  Grandma plays toys with me for  a while then I get lunch and have a nap.  At 2:30 pm my Daddy picks me up and we go home.

There I watch cartoons with my Uncle Scott and play with Daddy.  Uncle Scott says kids have to know about cartoons and he is going to teach me kid stuff that grownups don't remember.  He loves to play toys with me.  Also he protects my toys from the dog.  Hawk thinks only dog toys are allowed on the floor so sometimes he tries to steal mine.  Also if I eat a rice cake at home he sometime tries to steal that.  That makes me very mad!  Grandma says I am getting some temper.  I don't know temper but I know how to let every one know I'm mad.  Sometimes I share my rice cake with Hawk so he doesn't have to steal it.

At night we have dinner and everybody plays with me.  Daddy gives me a bath and I go to bed about 9:30.  On saturdays I stay home with my Daddy.  Sundays Grandma gets a day off with me.  We are coming to see you Sunday.  I can't wait.

Now when they put me on my blanket to play toys they have to watch out because I don't stay where anyone puts me any more.  I roll everywhere I want to go.  I sit up real good and I hardly every tip over anymore.  If I start to tip to the side I just put my hand out and push myself back up.  I want to hurry up and learn to get around so I can catch the cats.  i love the cats and one of the cats will even let me pet her.  Her name  is Annabelle Lee.  Some times when I am playing toys she will walk right up and lay down next to me and let me touch her.  Grandma thinks she is just plain nuts because cats don't like babies to pet them but I think she is wonderful.  I always laugh when I see her.  I even like the dog when he is not stealing my rice cakes.

Monday I learned something all by myself.  Did you know that Grandma has toes?  We got to stay home Monday because Grandpa went to the bookstore.  All day long while we were playing I kept watching Grandma's feet.  Then while we were watching TV that night she took her slippers off.  i rolled right over to her and started laughing real loud.  Nobody knew what I was laughing about until I grabbed her foot.  Every time she would wiggle her foot I would squeal real loud.  I was making so much noise that Great Grandma came out of her room to see what all the noise was about.  It was a lot of fun to find out that Grandma has toes just like me.

Then last night I was watching Grandpa and found out that he has toes too!  I rolled right under the rocking chair trying to catch them.  I don't know if Daddy and Uncle Scott have toes but I bet they do.  I bet every one has toes just like me.  And I figured it out all by myself.

I love and miss you (Grandma says that's why I am fussy sometimes) but everyone here is keeping me busy so I am enjoying my visit.   See you real soon
