Lynda Lambert

Lynda Lambert's story...

My art is something special!

One week before Mothers Day a local newspaper reporter called several mothers in the area to ask what they would wish for if they could do anything they wanted. Lynda quickly replied that she would like to travel all over Europe and paint pictures there. Lynda now says, It was the most far out and wildest thing I could have said. It was a fantasy, a dream. When I hung up the phone I wondered why I had said such a rash thing to the reporter and felt embarrassed. Yet, it was the one thing I wished for most of all in my life, to travel to Europe and to make art during my travels. But how could such a life be for me, I wondered? I had hardly traveled outside my home state of Pennsylvania at that time.

Lambert began painting at the age of thirty-six. Art rapidly became a positive obsession in her life and from the very beginning she was showing her work in public exhibitions, winning prestigious awards, and her work was selling.

This remarkable artist began going to college when she was forty-two and earned three degrees in art and in English over the next nine years. Near the completion of her first degree she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She says, I was heartbroken. It seemed like my life was nearly over during those first few days when I was still in shock. But, soon I regained my determination and zest for life and I decided that I would live my life to the fullest every single day and not allow that disease to change one thing in my life. I would continue to pursue my art with a passion for as long as God allowed me to live on this earth. It was in making art that I found the greatest joy in my own life and the healing that I needed to go through that ordeal. During the tramatic cancer experience I learned there is tremendous healing power in a work of art and in making the art. Something terrible was turned into a blessing by my attitude to move forward in spite of the disease. I had become an art missionary!

Lynda Lambert will tell you very quickly that public acclaim is not the motivation that propels her forward in the art journey she has pursued for over twenty years now. Lynda remarked that she finds great satisfaction in knowing my paintings are hanging in the homes of people who love them enough to want to live with them and look at them every day. I know that my paintings bring healing and happiness to others. My paintings have appeared in exhibitions all over the world, including the Ambassadors Residence in Papua, New Guinea.

Lynda began to design jewelry in the spring of 2004. She sells it at arts festivals and private shows.

Lynda Lamberts wish to travel to Europe to paint pictures became a reality. She now lives and makes art in Europe every summer. My ART is something special! is blazoned on Lyndas business cards and website. Not only is it something special, it is pure magic!
