| When I look into my little girls eyes
I realize that every man could be a monster in disguise. The mural of the missing shows how many have fallen, Faces on the wall how many thousands more will fall, Before we do anything at all? How long must we go on crying the same song? Oh God my child is gone! Every man I see, I fear Could have the desire to kill me, Better safe than sorry so I wont let any one near. With a 24 hour death sentence, Because theyd rather collect the evidence Or be a victim on the stand, Persecuted by man. How long must we go on crying the same song? Oh God my child is gone! Please dont hurt my baby! I have children who need me! Are pleas fallen on deaf ears. Now tell me how many more years, Till we end these silent fears, And find some peace of mind, That no man will hurt me or mine? Faces on the wall, how many more will fall? As we go on crying the same song . . . Oh God my child is gone. After-thoughts I wrote this because I am upset at all the violence directed towards women and children. It's a song and a message. I hope it makes people stop and think, and try to make things better. |
