What is the League of Women Voters?

The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan, multi-issue organization whose mission is to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation in government and to act on selected government issues. The League's reputation of thoroughness and nonpartisanship makes it a powerful and respected citizen organization in America.

Who can join?

Membership is open to all women and men of voting age.

What does our League do?

The League: holds voter registrations; sponsors, organizes, and conducts Candidate Nights; distributes fact sheets on candidates and state ballot questions; and studies state and local issues.
We offer membership and some public meetings/programs on League study and action issues of current interest.
We lead Internship in Democracy programs in the Middletown High School North; provide Get Out the Vote packets to graduating High School Seniors; conduct a Running & Winning workshop for high school juniors.

What do my dues include?

Membership in the LWV-GRBA, Monmouth Co. LWV, LWVNJ & LWVUS. You will also receive excellent local, state and national publications.

How can you make a difference?

The members of the LWV-GRBA establish a force that can affect all levels of public policy. You can especially help us educate both adults and high school students in areas related to community & political participation at the local levels. Every new member increases the effectiveness and influence the League has on the issues important to YOU.
