Marty won the Gold Medal in the 'Sprint' competition in Sydney at the 2000 Olympics.  He is also a silver medalist having won the 'Match Sprint' (1996 Olympics in Atlanta).  A home town hero, he won three National Championships at the EDS Championships held at the Lehigh Valley Velodrome in July, 1999.  He holds a total of Thirty National titles (and still counting).

Marty is a 1985 graduate of the Air Products Developmental Cycling Program.  He came to prominence at the Junior National Championships in 1988, winning the 'Match Sprint' in the 16-17 year old age group.  In 1984 he was the first U. S. man in 82 years to win the World Sprint title.  He has accumulated twenty racing titles thus far in his career.   He won three  titles at the National Championships in July, 1999 and three Gold Medals at the Pan American Games at Winnipeg, Canada also in 1999.  He is a 1989 graduate of Emmaus High  School in Emmaus, Pa.   Marty is married to wife Christi, has one son, Tyler and a daughter, Devin.  They make their home in New Tripoli, Pa.
