OBITUARY NOTICE:

Noxel, John - Wednesday July 26, 1916

"John Noxel killed by lightening yesterday also 13 horses and his barn"

NOTE:

Armenus died at a time in history when the First World War was still in progress. This is important to mention because it affected the wording in the will in at least two places. The first instance was in a document in which Margaret was applying for "letters of administration" since Armenius died intestate;

" ...That I am the lawful wife and party applying for letters of administration herein. That the deceased was not a German, Austro-Hungarian, Turkish, or Bulgarian subject or other alien enemy." The second instance was found early in the will;

"....That I know that the said deceased was not German, Austro-Hungarian, Turkish, or Bulgarian subject or other Alien enemy from the fact that I am his widow and lived with him as his wife for twenty years or more."
