REFLECTION
The lessons above represent lessons and whole units that have been  (or will be) taught to whole groups, individuals, or both.  They all are aligned with the California curricular standards for the appropriate grade level, but are easily adapted for other ages of students, as well.  They cover social studies, science, math, and language arts, as I wanted to try using technology in a variety of curricular areas so that I would have the experience for both my own students, and validity with those teachers who might wonder if technology could be integrated in every area.  I have also included a Powerpoint presentation that I showed my students at the beginning of the school year to introduce one concept of diversity.  "We Are Smart in Many Ways"  addresses the Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences, and I am a strong believer that if we help students to find value in their own strengths, that we will become better observers of them, as well.  I have also shared this slide show with colleagues, as well, and have been asked if they could share it with their own classes.
My hope is to gain experience and expertise in this area, so that both my students and other teachers' students can benefit from accessing the curriculum in engaging, powerful, and differentiated ways.
