I Can Write Letters!

There are lots of reasons that you might want to write a letter.  Here       are some of them:

                    To cheer someone up
                       To ask a question
                       To give an opinion
                           To thank someone
                               To say hello
                                To answer a question

Click on the envelope or the text next to it to practice writing a friendly letter.  Remember that a friendly letter is one that you write to a friend or a family member.  Don't forget to print your letter out so you can deliver it (it will not be saved!).

When you have finished your friendly letter, and have printed it, think about a business or a famous person to whom you could write a business letter.  This letter has a few more parts to it.  It is more formal, because you don't know the person as well as you do when you write a friendly letter. Click on the mailbox below, or the text next to it to write a business letter.  Don't forget to print it before you close the window!

Another kind of friendly letter is a very short one written on a postcard.  There usually isn't enough room to write a lot of words, but it is a good idea to write the date, just so your friend or family member knows when you wrote. Click on the below, or the text below it to go to a fun site that will allow you to send an e-postcard to someone with email.  Have fun!

Who else would enjoy getting a letter from you? What about:

Dear Abby?

                    Our president?

                                                          Your grandma in Mexico?

                            Your favorite basketball player?

A military man or woman who is serving overseas?
