The artifacts on this page
represent part of: 1) what I've done to educate myself about how
best to help my educational community move in a positive direction with
regard to technology, 2) how I've tried to be a part of that
positive direction at one site, and 3) a vision I have for part of a
professional development series I'd like to work in our district.
The literature review ("Personal Attributes...") allowed me to see just how important both attitude and training are to successful and powerful technology use in our classrooms. The E.E.T.T. schedule is the one my team and I followed last school year as we worked to implement the grant at our site. It represents a learning curve for me, because I had the opportunity to observe others teach with technology during my time in their classrooms, and to do the actual teaching with technology with their students (in addition to my own). The Professional Development Plan is one that I have a real desire to implement in our district, as writing is an important area of focus for our largely English learning population, and I believe technology to be a powerful way to focus our teachers AND students on the necessary skills. "The Quill and the Keyboard" is the Powerpoint introduction to this plan, and the Web-based Instruction piece is an example of one part of the series I introduced in the Powerpoint. Because I am not currently in a classroom (I am in a district-based position right now), I want to try out what lessons I have not already tried with students, with a "borrowed" class. This would allow me to note what worked and what didn't and to revise any lessons, if necessary. It would also keep the professional development units credible. |
