| The existing acts and whether or not they can be used are highly debated because some say that it does not fall into any particular Act. Two main reasons for the Wire Wager Act is that "the words 'wire communication facility' only apply to transmissions that use wires and the proliferation of wireless Internet access would therefore fall outside the scope of the Act" and "reference to 'bets or wagers on any sporting event or contest' implies the Act might only apply to wagering upon sporting events, not card games or other games based upon chance" (http://www.4online-gambling.com/legal.htm). This is why it has been so difficult to find anything concrete to put upon the company's online business. At this point in time there is no absolute way to prohibit online gambling. The only real solution is to legalize it and come up with some sort of compromise. To continue to the next topic of how online gambling is affecting minors, click here or at the bottom.
