Luna County, New Mexico an AHGP Project

 

Luna County, named after Soloman Luna, a politician and cattle rancher from the area, was created in 1901 from Grant and Dona Ana County, New Mexico.  The county seat is Deming. Deming, founded in 1881 and officially incorporated in 1902 was named after Mary Anne Deming, the wife of railroad magnate Charles Crocker.  Read more.
