The replacement for the aging MS-06F Zaku II, the MS-07B Gouf was an effective unit in close combat but was unable to launch long range attacks. Soon after their production, the Zimmad Corporation rolled out the MS-09 Dom, and the Gouf's production was stopped. Some pilots prefered the Gouf over the Dom and a few were upgraded into a high performance type. This high performance tpye was the B-3 Type Gouf. Replacing the "Gun Hand" with a standard manipulator, the B-3 Type was able to use a mounted Machinegun as well as a Gatling Gun, which could be discarded as soon as it ran out of ammunition. The Heat Rod was also replaced with a Grappling Cable, which could emit an electro-magnetic pulse. These upgrades greatly improved the performance of the Gouf and many of these units were used in the Southeast Asia area.
