Nearing the end of the One Year War, the Zeon were desperate to come up with a Mobile Suit capable of defeating the Earth Federation. While the Zeonic Corporation developed the MS-14 Gelgoog, the Zimmad Corporation developed the Gyan. Intended to compiment it's already successful MS-09R Rick Dom, the Gyan was to be used for close combat, opposite the long range capabilities of the Rick Dom. Unfortunately, Zeon favored the Gelgoog and the Gyan only saw combat once. Piloted by M'quve, the Gyan fought and lost to the Federation's powerful RX-78-2 Gundam.
