A retooled version of the civilian SP-W03 Mobile Pod, the Ball was given armor plating and a 180mm Recoilless Cannon. It's main purpose was to provide support and cover fire for the RGM-79 GM. The Ball was first used during the One Year War in UC 0079 and was still in use until the time of Operation Stardust, along with the GM, in UC 0083.
