"SL" stands for "storyline". The character(s) you interact with and the experiences your character endures all make up your storyline.

"PB" stands for "Played By". In a PB game, you create a character with a ficticious name and pick a celebrity to play that character. PB communities usually have themes like a particular highschool, apartment complex, etc.

"PM" stands for "Private Message". GreatestJournal has a message system built-in to it where you can send a private message to any other user. To access it, click the "Messages" link in the left menu of the main GreatestJournal window.

The term "pimp" or "pimping" means advertising for a specific community, character or storyline. There are numerous advertising communities and when you post a request in one of them, you're "pimping".

Slash-friendly communities are communities that allow gay or bi-sexual storylines, even if the character being portrayed is not gay or bi-sexual in real life.
Q. What does "OOC" mean?
"OOC" stands for "out of character". Any time you are writing as yourself and not the character you portray, you're OOC.

"IC" stands for "in character". Any time you are writing as your character and not yourself, you are IC.

Q. What does "lol" mean?

Q. How do I create a cut tag?
One of the features of
GreatestJournal is the ability to put your text behind a cut tag. This is especially useful when you have a long post and don't want to fill your Friends list with all your text. It also comes in handy when posting images in your journal. To create a cut tag, type <lj-cut text="Whatever text you'd like your link to say">. Then enter in your post, images, etc. When you're finished, end it with </lj-cut>.
Q. How do I change my text color?
To change your text color, surround it with <font color="#FFFF00">...</font> tags. In this example, #FFFF00 is a yellow color. For a complete chart of HEX code colors, refer to
this chart. So, if you typed <font color="#FFFF00">This is my text</font> it would look like this:

Q. How do I change my text size?
Your font size can be between 1 and 7. By default, it's size 3. To change the font size, surround your text with <font size="1">...</font> tags but change the "1" to whatever number you want between 1 and 7. Here is an
example of what the different sizes look like.
Q. How do I add an image to my post?
To add an image to your post, use the <img src="http://www.whereveryourimageis.com/imagename.ext"> but change the URL and imagename so it actually points to your image. GreatestJournal offers free image hosting for files up to 60K in size. Once you've uploaded it there, the <img> tag will be given to you as well.
Q. How do I add a link to my post?
To add a link to your post, use the <a href="http://www.websitename.com">>words for your link</a> tags. For example, to link to GreatestJournal, you would type <a href="http://www.greatestjournal.com">GreatestJournal</a> which would look like this:

Q. How do I install the AIM Buddy List?
Download the buddy list and save it somewhere easy to find like your "My Documents" folder. Then go to AIM and click the "Setup" button at the bottom. Delete the sections marked "Luminary Mods" and "Luminaries" then click the button that says "Return to Buddy List". After you've done that, click "My Aim" and select "Load Buddy List". Search for the file you just downloaded (filename: luminaries.blt) and click the "Load" button.
