The Letter from Rev. Utsumi 
who organize the participants from abroad 

Aim :
To awaken public understanding about significance of the Lumbini Shanti Stupa and invite public to the opening ceremony.
To pray world peace and nuclear free world based on the teaching of Lord Buddha.

Distance :
Approx. 440 km

Period :
25 days ( 7th Oct. to 31st Oct. 2001 )

Route :
Kathmandu -- Muglin -- Pokhara -- Tansen -- Butwal -- Bhairahawa -- Lumbinni

Number of Participants :
Total number is 32 persons
12 persons from Nepal
20 persons from Nipponzan Myohoji monks, nuns and devotees.

Organizer :
The organizing committee should be formed for preparation and arrangement of pilgrimage, such as, to fix the place to stay, to contact local people, to find sponsors, to inform Media and the Authority, to publish booklets and posters, etc.

Pilgrim :
Pilgrims are requested to bear their own medical expense if such case happens. They are also requested to share the charge of vehicle that will be hired to carry the baggage of them.
No drugs and no alcohol during the pilgrimage.
Pilgrims are requested to follow the direction of the organizes.
Sleeping bags are necessary.
