Over 1200 issues from Round-1 have been synthesized into a summary set
of ISSUES FACING INFORMATION SYSTEMS RESEARCHERS. We thank Round-1
respondents, and now invite you ALL to participate in *** ROUND-2 ***
by expressing your views on the summary issues listed at...
http://www.fit.qut.edu.au/ais-issues
(this will require less than 15 minutes of your time). We seek with
Round-2 to reach as many I.S. researchers as possible, regardless of
affiliation (you need not be a member of AIS).
BACKGROUND:
In 2003 Association for Information Systems (AIS) approved a review of
the 'State of the IS Academic Discipline'. The study entails 5 main,
ongoing sub-studies (see study-abstract at end of this email for
further details):
(1) METHODOLOGY STUDY - Guy Gable, Sid Huff, Phillip Ein-Dor;
(2) CONTEXT STUDY - Robert Smyth, KK Wei;
(3) FACULTY DIRECTORY UPDATE/ARCHIVAL ANALYSIS - Dave Naumann, Felix Tan;
(4) COUNTRY CASE STUDIES - Sid Huff, Hans Lehmann;
(5) RESEARCH ISSUES STUDY - Guy Gable.
While (2) and (4) initially focus on the Pacific Asia Region,
(1), (3) and (5) are global.
In 3rd quarter 2004 we received 1200+ issues from ROUND-1 respondents of
sub-study(5). With this email we invite you to participate in
*** ROUND-2 *** of that sub-study.
Further details of the sub-study Purpose, Conduct, and Confidentiality
can be viewed at the survey web-site. On completion of the study a final
report will be disseminated to respondents.
