| In 1991, an electron microscopist, Sumio Iijima, created the first carbon nanotube. Iijima's lab partners, Thomas Ebbesen and Pulickel Ajayan created the carbon nanotubes in bulk quantities. Two years later, the nanotubes were created as a single layer and cobalt was inputted as one of the leading materials. Today the carbon nanotube is a graphene cylinder, closed with caps that consist of pentagonal rings. Nanotubes are created with various elements, but the most common is carbon. |

| The red image on the left is an Atomic Force Microscope. The yellow is the carbon nanotube. Overall, the image is illustrating how the scanning process can lead to the manipulation in the shape of the carbon nanotube. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Scientists are beginning to develop different forms of nanotubes, where the nanotubes differ from the original long strain. The ring, illustrated on the right, allows greater electric transport. Today, nanotube behavior is determined by the interaction between neighboring forces. Most forces expand the diameter of the newly formed rings. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| As previously mentioned, carbon nanotubes combine to form the world's number one tennis racquet. The Babolat pure drive is made five times stiffer than the average tennis racquet, which in return will provide less bend and a stronger return. The racquet was created to provide the perfect balance of power, control and stability, which is why it is my weapon of choice. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| To summerize... Nanotubes have evolved into a common material found in products to provide a specific feature. For example, carbon nanotubes provide stiffness in tennis racquets. To achieve the highest proformance, commercial companies are customizing at the nano level. Nanotubes connect to chemistry because various elements, such as carbon, are used as the main material. |
