The East Coast Saga Luke & Jeff travel the East Coast June 29-July 8

My best friend Jeff and I had been talking about going to the East Coast for some time. One fine summer evening we made some phone calls, bought some tickets (which just happened to be ten day North American Unlimited Greyhound passes) and the ball was set into motion. So on Friday, June 29, 2001, Jeff and I stepped foot about a Greyhound bus bound for New York and we off!
Riding on the Greyound for extended periods of time is definitely an acquired taste. Jeff and I were unable to sit by each other, which turned out to be quite an interesting (the first of many) experience . . . . . The bus made pit stops in Indiana and we had a layover in Pittsburgh. Jeff ended up sitting with a girl, Jenny (pok ma horn), who had formerly interned in Chicago but was from Scotland. It was a long ride with sleep being in short supply. We came to the Port Authority and decided to work to were we would be staying. We then walked 60 long city blocks (yes we did not know how far away it was) to the Bowery Street Mission. Jeff had made a few phone calls and we ended up staying at a shelter on Bowery Street in New York City. We were shown were we would be staying for the next couple days, met a couple of the guys, hopped on the subway and went up to Central Park for the afternoon.

The Boston saga
We sat and people watched for awhile, and then walked around the park some more. We then walked down to Times Square and had dinner. We tried to catch a Broadway show but by this time all the ones we had wanted to see had already started. Instead we went to a comedy show in this little place right off Broadway. We had some laughs and went back to the Bowrey for some shut eye.
