Droids

Most famous astromech droid is R2-D2, which this is a picture of him.
Astromech Droids

Astromech droids are a series of versatile utility robots generally used for the maintenance and repair of starships and related technology. These small droids are often equipped with a variety of tool-tipped appendages that are stowed in recessed compartments. The R2-unit is a popular example of an astromech droid.

Most famous protocol droid is C-3PO, which this is a picture of him.
Protocol Droids

The protocol droids developed by Cybot Galactica and other large manufacturers feature an advanced neural network called the SyntheTech AA-1 VerboBrain. This elite cognitive module gives a protocol droid very distinct personality and a strong sense of individuality. As a result, protocol droids personalities are as vivid as those of sentients, complete with real emotions and potential for growth. The sophisticated TranLang III Communcations module found in the standard 3PO unit is capable of reproducing over six million languages. Its speech/sound system allows a protocol droid to reproduce any sound it hears.

These droids are mainly used for repairing Podracers.
PitDroids

The common pit droid, or DUM unit, is mass-produced on the manufacturing planet Cyrillia. Their saucer shaped heads have two antenna used to communicate with other droids. They come with fairly substandard programming, which can be upgraded. Small bundles of preprogrammed urgency, pit droids always seem eager to enact any and all repairs that must be made, whether requested to or not.

These droids are excellent on searching what they are told too.
Sith Probe Droids

The dark eye probe droid uses a trio of imaging sensors -- an accurate photoreceptor, a magnetic imaging device, and a thermal imager -- to bring the world around it into focus. Multispectral imaging and additional scanning capability make it a well-equipped tracker. It can be programmed to seek out individuals or information, and can send its findings via a transmission antenna. Dark eye probe droids are programmed to silently observe, passively gather information, intercept transmissions and eavesdrop on conversations. If needed, they can also be outfitted with weaponry on an external mount, for protection or for more offensive roles.
