Maxie sat in her room in complete disbelief. Lucky Spencer asked her out on a date! When Lucky took her home,he had a smile on his face that she had never seen before. It was amazing that she had done that to him. She kept on thinking about what Gia had said,saying that Lucky loved her too. She had prayed for so long,hoping it was true. She then wondered what Nikolas had said to Lucky in the locker room. Was it the same as to what Gia had said to her? She didn't know. She looked at her calender. Her date was tomorrow night. She wondered where he would take her. He didn't tell her in the car. "It's a surprise."he said,with a twinkle in her eye. That was all she got out of him.
Lucky was in his room,pacing. He thought about a moonlight picnic in the park. She would definetly love that,he thought to himself. He picked up the phone to make some arrangements. "Hello?"said a voice on the other line. "Mom?"Lucky said. "Lucky!What a nice surprise!What can I do for you? I heard about Maxie. Mac told me. How is she doing?"she asked,concern in her voice. "She's doing fine,Mom. Listen,do you have that picnic basket that you bought? I need it for tomorrow night."he explained. He took a deep breath."I have a date with Maxie." "You do?!? That's great! I'm so happy for you! What are your plans?" "Well,I am planning a moonlight picnic,with food from Kelly's."Lucky said. "Well,I have the basket in the hall closet. You can pick it up in the morning,ok?"Laura said. "Sure,Mom."Lucky said. "Great. I hope you have a great time."Laura said. They hung up the phone,Lucky planning the whole thing out in his mind. I hope this turns out ok,he thought to himself. He then began to rummage through his clothes,looking for an outfit for his date. He hoped he didn't have to iron anything.
Maxie came downstairs in her new black velvet stetch shirt and blue lace skirt. She stepped in front of the hall mirror,checking her make-up. I hope I look good enough for him,she thought. Just then,the doorbell rang. She opened it up to find Lucky Spencer standing on her doorstep,looking like he stepped out of GQ. "Wow",he said,"you look amazing."Maxie blushed,thinking the same thing about him. "Where are we going?"she asked. "Well,one thing first."he said to her,presenting her with his gift to her. It was a silver wrapped box with a silver bow. "Open it",he urged. She opened the box to find a silver bracelet with a small blue sapphire inside. "Lucky",she said,"it's so beautiful." "Not as beautiful as you."he said,while putting it on her wrist. "Are you ready?" "I hope you like my surprise."he said. "Any hints?"she inquired. "Not a chance."he said with a smile. Maxie wondered what it could be.
It took them about 10 minutes to reach his destination,helping Maxie out of his car. She looked and saw a picnic table with a tablecloth and two chairs,candles,a picnic basket,along with lit candles and a boom box playing music. It was a dream come true. Lucky saw the pure joy on her face and smiled. "Do you like it?"he asked. "LIke doesn't begin to describe it,Lucky."she said. "It's absolutely perfect." Thank God,he thought. I was hoping she would like it. "Did you do all of this by yourself?"Maxie asked him. "Mostly",he said while helping her into her chair,"the picnic basket and the boom box are my mom's,and the tablecloth is an old one from Kelly's. So is the food,by the way." "Great"Maxie said,"I'm starving." They then proceded to eat some chicken salad,along with lasagna and garlic sticks,and for dessert apple crumb cake. "Wow,I'm stuffed. That was amazing,Lucky."Maxie said,putting her napkin next to her plate. Lucky then got up to push Play on the cd part of the boom box and out came You Are My Everything. "Care to dance?"he asked,offering his hand. Of course."she said,taking it. They danced slowly to the rhythm and proceded to look into each other's eyes. "You have beautiful eyes."commented Lucky. "Thank you,"Maxie said,while turning red. Just then,Lucky leaned in and softly kissed Maxie,savoring the taste of her sweet lips. Maxie thought that she was dreaming. She kissed him back,knowing she only had this kind of chance only once in a lifetime. When they parted,Maxie said to him,"I love you Lucas Lorenzo Spencer,Jr." He smiled and told her,"I love you too,Maxemilia Jones."
