| "Grandmother, what is going on here?" Nikolas asked, looking back and forth. "Nikolas darling, this is Marie, she was made just for you." Helena answered, placing a hand on Marie's shoulder. Marie tried to smile at Nikolas, but found he had no interest in looking at her. She let her eyes fall to the ground in disappointment. Lucky noticed, but didn't make a move to comfort her, Helena wouldn't have it. "Grandmother, I do not need or want a girl made for me." Nikolas retorted. "Nikolas, but she loves you, the girl was made to worship you, like it should be. You are wasting you time with Elizabeth!" "Grandmother, you will not tell me who I can love!" Lucky looked at Nikolas and wanted to punch him for saying that he loved Elizabeth. He could never have true feelings for her, not like him. Lucky's attention was then stolen by Marie, who was starting to wrap her arms around Nikolas. "Nikolas, just let me love you." Marie whispered in his ear. "Don't." Nikolas responded by pushing her away. Marie stood back and was in shock, Helena had told her that she and Nikolas would be together forever. How could he just refuse her love like that? All of a sudden the doorbell rang and Nikolas decided this was his chance to escape, so he ran up stairs before Helena could stop him. Nikolas quickly made his way to the enormous oak doors and opened them to see Elizabeth's beautiful face. "Elizabeth, what are you doing here?" "What else, looking for Lucky." "Oh." Nikolas turned to see if Helena was anywhere in sight. "Nikolas, what is it." "Just checking to see if Helena was around, Lucky is here." Nikolas whispered. "What, can I see him." " I don't think that's such a good idea, Helena is around." "Alright, but will you make sure he gets home soon?" Elizabeth pleaded. "What's this?" Helena asked, now approaching the door. BACK IN THE LAB... "Marie, it's alright." Lucky said, placing an arm around her. "Thank you Lucky, I just don't know what to do, I thought he was supposed to love me too." Marie said, almost in tears. "He will, and if he dosen't, then he's an idiot." "Oh, I'm an idiot?" Nikolas asked in disgust. Chapter 5 |
