| Left to Right are: Rusty our sole Saanen, Tala, Angeleena, Trident & Wildflower. Here you see 5 of the younger girls being milked on an overhead pipeline system. Before each milking the system is sanitized using a chlorine prewash. Each animal is meticulously cleaned and dried prior to being milked by the machine. While being milked the does are eating a 14% grain ration. After milking the girls receive another teat dipping to protect them from bacteria before leaving the parlour. It is at this time they receive treats of grapes, apples, pears and whatever might be in season from another local farm. After milking the system is rinsed with clear warm water, sanitized using a commercial detergent and finally rinced with a commercial pipeline acid. |
