TOO QUICK TO JUDGE
SWIMMING THE HORSE

My horse and I swam
Today and I realized
That in truth, all I will
Ever need in life is a horse,
A river, and the ability to hang on.
When we are in the water,
My horse and I are the closest
Partners of any kind in this would.
As we ride into the deep water of
The river, I hand him my inabilities,
My insecurities, and every fear I've ever
Had, of life, and water.
Unlike the other men in my life
He shoulders my inabilities, my insecurities,
And my helplessness and he carries
Me on through, he carries my
Heart on his back without complaint.
Like a religious zealot looking into the
Eyes of their god, I have an
Epiphany everytime I see the truth in
My guardian's eyes. He is my friend,
My partner, and my truest love. I am
A better person for knowing him, and
This river is the most healing thing I've
Had in a while.
