Bear is part of the "Lucky 7" litter, that was found on 1/12/03.
He is believed to be an Australian Shepherd, Golden Lab, German Shepard Mix. This breed estimate was made by the vet, at approximately 6 weeks of age.
He went to the vet for a check up on 1/15/03, and was given a clean bill of health. The vet gave him wormer treatment as a precaution, and he did have some roundworms. That seems to have cleared up, but you may want to mention when you take him to the vet. Bear will be needing his first round of shots when he gets adopted.
Bear has an estimated birth date of 12/01/02. This is based on the vet estimate of his age at the check-up. As of 3/1/03, he weighs about 20 pounds. The vet estimated he will grow to be 50-70 pounds or larger.
Bear is definitely the most rambunctious of the pups. He has loads of energy, loves attention, and likes to wrestle with his littermates and his humans. He does chew on his humans more than the other pups, but this behavior is normal and he should grow out of it with a little training. He and his littermates seem to do well with cats, kids, and other pets. They all like to jump at this age, so they may knock down a young child accidentally, but have not hurt anyone. Bear is quite curious of our cat, and likes to check her out when she allows him to.
