Our story...I have always had a love of animals and a dream to start someday start a rescue. On January 12, 2003, I was given the chance to make that dream a reality when a litter of seven pups was abandoned.
Seven cold, frightened pups were found in a cardboard box in the cold entryway to an apartment building. A good samaritan took them in to warm them up and feed them, and then he called the local police department. The police officers took them to the local pound until a better place for them could be found. I was working as a dispatcher at the police department, and I knew that the pound would not be able to care for pups this yound, so my caring nature took over. With the pound's permission, no rescue experience, and very little experieince with puppies, I took the puppies home with me that day...and began the adventure of a lifetime.
I began to call the pups "the lucky 7", because that's what they were...lucky. They were lucky to have been found & found alive, lucky that a good samaritan found them, and lucky that a girl with a big heart and a dream just happened to be there to take the call.
And so began Lucky 7 Puppy Rescue.
