Still Life: Vase with Twelve Sunflowers
(1889, Philadelphia Museum of Art, 92 x 72.5cm)

Vincent Van Gogh
Dutch painter Vincent Van-Gogh is sometimes classified as Neo-Impressionist, although his style is hard to fit into any trend in particular. His agressive lines and colors, and his ability to vividly capture people's facial expressions (figured on his many portraits and self-portraits) later influenced the Expressionism movement.

My first impression when I saw this painting at the Philadelphia Museum of Art was "The color is not as bright as I used to see on the books!"
Cafe Terrace on the Place du Forum, Arles, at Night (1888, Kroller-Muller Museum, 81 x 65.5cm)
I have a cheap copy of this painting hung on my dining room wall! We can see Van Gogh's famous stars on it. I found some interesting story and information about this painting on the web.
